Travis Heights Neighborhood Profile
Travis Heights is a visually stunning and historic Austin neighborhood originally established in the 1890s and located just south of downtown. Travis Heights attracts many professionals, families, and local artists. Its extraordinary trees and small hills give the neighborhood a feeling of seclusion, even though it is located amidst everything that is iconically Austin. Travis Heights is adjacent to South Congress Avenue and the SOCO district, where you will find dozens of local restaurants, bars, and small boutiques. On weekends it is common to find South Congress lined with locals and tourists alike strolling, taking photos, and enjoying a day in Austin.
In addition to great nearby eateries and shopping, Travis Heights residents also enjoy being fit and the outdoors. Little Stacy Park offers a swimming pool, tennis, and volleyball courts for residents to use. The Blunn Creek Greenbelt inside the neighborhood offers a small hiking trail and BBQ pits. Barton Springs and Zilker Park are also located just a short bike ride away, and just north of Travis Heights is the Town Lake trail, where you will find Austinites walking and running any time of day or night.See Travis Heights Homes for Sale
